What separates Silvanesti from other bands in the same genre is the commercializing of the music without making it mainstream or “pop”. !Songs are hard, progressive, massive, dynamic and melodic. By focusing on catchy melodies and hooks, the music reaches a broader public.

Silvanesti started out as a studioproject in 2005. Singer and songwriter Maria Bentzen and drummer Ole Hermann Røhr started recording Maria‘s songs !The initial demo was distributed to different record-companies. Maria received a phonecall from Universal Records,Norway‘s Lage Fossheim. He liked the demo very much, but unfortunaltely Universal had signed all the
contracts for that year. He encouraged Maria to keep on writing songs and the band to continue.
They quickly established the foundation of the band with bassplayer Mats Vegard Andresen, keyboardist John Petter Sæterdal and guitarist Jo Fahlstrøm.
They got booked for gigs in and outside their hometown.
In 2008 they started recording the demo “ Kiss of Karma” in Marshall studios with producer Gilbert Marshall( the keyboardist in the progrock band Magic Pie). Silvanesti got booked as the supportact for Stonegard. The Norweigan power metal-band, Highland Glory, contacted them and wanted them as the supportact on multiple jobs.
Then late in 2009 the band decided to do a new studio racording for an -ep. The Rock Ranch studio, engineered by Trond “teeny” Holter. Also the gitarist i from Wig Wam. Silvanesti recorded 4 new smashing songs and finally they got the sound they wanted and the right feeling. Silvanesti will for surtain keep on working With Trond Holter on a full album.
